Chelsea Paid for their Defeat to Real Madrid

Chelsea paid for their defeat to Real Madrid with a scandalous win at Southampton. Tuchel‘s men made four starting changes.
Chelsea, Real Madrid‘s rival in the Champions League, suffered a heavy defeat against the Madrid team with a spectacular thrashing against Southampton (0-6). Tuchel’s men react like this, in a forceful game, to two consecutive defeats: in the Premier against Brentford (1-4); and in the Champions League against the aforementioned Real Madrid (1-3).
The Londoners were forceful from the beginning, with four changes in the starting eleven compared to the Champions line-up: Loftus-Cheek, Marcos Alonso, Kovacic and Werner entered, respectively, for James, Azpilicueta, Jorginho and Pulisic, who were the starters against the real Madrid.
Already in the first part, the London win was imposed with four goals by Marcos Alonso, Mount, Werner and Havertz. Despite these four goals, the best of the local team was goalkeeper Forster, with the German Werner also scoring three goals in that first half.
With the ghost of 0-9 against Leicester in 2009, Southampton came out to play the second half, but two other goals fell in the first few minutes: Werner and Mount. Starting at 0-6, Chelsea dedicated themselves to saving their strength for next Tuesday’s match at the Bernabeu.
Havertz, Thiago Silva and Mount were traded as all three will presumably be Madrid starters. The European champion accumulated 24 shots on the ‘Sotton’ goal.

After the match, Tuchel clarified Lukaku’s absence from the squad: “He didn’t train with us yesterday. He was in a lot of pain,” he told ‘Sky Sports’, although he did not detail what type of injury the Belgian is suffering. “We have little time, since we travel to Madrid on Monday, so I have to wait,” added the German coach.
Tuchel also has the doubt of Cesar Azpilicueta, who tested positive for covid before the duel this Saturday.
