Nequi: Implement Charges in the App After Separation from Bancolombia

This Wednesday, December 15, the Board of Directors of Bancolombia approved the decision to separate from the Nequi platform so that it can have a greater reach at the regional level.

However, this decision generated many doubts among its users, especially in what has to do with extra charges made by any entity that is attached to the Financial Superintendency.

In this sense, the platform has used its social networks to explain to users that all the benefits that the platform has today will continue as always.

In a message posted on Twitter, the company assured that “for Nequi come new opportunities for growth and improvement. Our app, services and functionalities will continue to be there for our 9.7 million users as we like it; without charges ”, says the platform.

“We maintain our value proposition of being a 100% digital bank and our innovative and entrepreneurial spirit”, concludes the message.

The company, in the same way, took advantage of the moment to confirm that the application will not have major changes at the moment. He even pointed out that this decision will enhance it so that every day it provides a better service.

“The authorization of the board of directors also considers the creation of other non-financial vehicles that allow to leverage the evolution of Nequi to enable and provide technological solutions at the regional level,” added Bancolombia.

Finally, the platform stressed that it will continue to operate normally without additional charges and withdrawals can continue to be made at the different Bancolombia ATMs.

It is worth remembering that Nequi is the digital platform of Grupo Bancolombia, and that it currently has more than 9.7 million clients in the country, as well.

Bancolombia made the decision to legally separate from Nequi, the platform that allows people to carry out economic transactions through the application and that seeks to bank more Colombians in the country.

In this way, Nequi is constituted as a financing company before the Financial Superintendency of Colombia and will operate under the figure of 100% digital credit establishment.

So far, the company has not said if this could affect the nearly ten million users that the platform already has, but everything seems to indicate that its operation will remain as it is.

Payroll payment in the app
There are several benefits that the Nequi platform offers to its users. One of them is that it allows employers to pay payroll on the application.

From the official page of Nequi, which is a subsidiary of Bancolombia, users of this app were reminded that payroll payments can be made because it works like a savings account. The account number is the same as the cell line number.

The first thing the employer who wants to pay under this modality has to do is ask their workers to download this application on the mobile device and enable it to receive payment periodically.

You have two options to make the payment, the first of them is related to the banking platforms. If a bank in Colombia is used for payroll payment, it is necessary to register it using the bank code: Nequi 1507. The time for the employee to see the payment reflected applies the same as for other banks.

Employers will be charged the same rate that you already have negotiated for payments to other banks. If the bank that is being used is Bancolombia, for the payroll payment the rate that will apply will be as if it were to a Bancolombia account, taking into account that Nequi is part of the same business team.
