Prince Harry has already confirmed his presence at the coronation of his father, King Charles III. The event takes place on the 6th of May. In addition to the already notorious controversies with his brother, Prince William, the Duke of Sussex will have to face the presence of another challenger: singer Katy Perry.

It seems like a completely random association, but Harry has plenty of reason to resent Katy. After all, she has a history of comments, to say the least, inelegant about the duke and his wife, Meghan Markle, who will not attend Charles’s coronation.

The most famous and most controversial one happened in 2018, after Harry and Meghan’s wedding. During a premiere of the show “American Idol”, where Katy is a judge, she was asked her opinion about the former actress’s dress. The singer, then, was categorical: “I would have done one more test”.

Katy even compared it to Kate Middleton’s dress, touching on the rivalry between the Princes’ wives. “Kate won. I’m sorry, I will never stop speaking the truth. One more proof. But I love her”, commented the popstar.

Harry was also the target of Katy’s comments in 2012. During her appearance on “The Graham Norton Show”, she referred to the Prince as a “hot redhead”. The presenter commented that Charles’s son is known to be very fond of women and the pop star replied: “I would be open to that”.

MEGHAN MARKLE HOLDS A GRUDGE ON KATY PERRY

Despite the relaxed atmosphere of Katy’s statements, Meghan seems not to have been very happy with what was said about her wedding dress. According to sources at the Daily Star, the Duchess of Sussex holds a deep grudge against the singer.

“While the comment was not offensive, Meghan felt harassed at the time and was overwhelmed amidst arguments with staff, Kate Middleton and her father Thomas Markle,” the source said.

Still according to the publication, not even the friendship of actor Orlando Bloom, Katy’s companion, with Harry was able to soften the climate between the two.
