Scientists have Called the Deadly Effects of Lack of Sleep

Experts have unraveled the “riddle” of extending life to sleep, finding the mechanism responsible for this. Lack of sleep can lead to premature death.

At Harvard Medical School, scientists have learned how unhealthy sleep affects the risk of premature death.

Researchers have discovered a mechanism that prolongs life and works only during “quality” sleep.

During the experiment, scientists learned that due to the lack of a night’s rest, the level of anti-inflammatory molecules in the body decreases. They conducted research on genetically modified mice. One group of rodents was allowed to sleep normally, and the other violated sleep patterns.

It turned out that the second group developed progressive damage to the arteries, and the number of plaques in the vessels increased by one third compared with the control group. In their body was twice the number of cells responsible for inflammatory processes.

Also, after a long sleep disturbance in mice, the production of the hormone orexin responsible for the regulation of sleep decreases.

Earlier, scientists told about the dangerous work in night shifts. It was also reported that lack of sleep is deadly.
