The Finnish network equipment supplier had sued Lenovo for patent infringement. Now the corporations have come to an agreement – Nokia will receive a compensation payment.

The PC market leader Lenovo and Nokia have settled their long patent dispute. The companies grant each other access to their patents, Lenovo will also make a compensation payment to the network equipment supplier, as Nokia announced on Wednesday. The amount was not mentioned.

Nokia had sued Lenovo in Munich and the USA with allegations of patent infringement. As the former global cell phone market leader, the Finnish group owns property rights for various basic technologies – and often goes to court to force license deals. Lenovo also owns the Motorola smartphone brand.
