Tourism Bodies Sign Agreement With Sebrae

Embratur (Brazilian Tourism Institute) and the Ministry of Tourism signed a Sebrae (Brazilian Service to Support Micro and Small Companies) a Technical Cooperation Agreement, in the amount of  $ 200 million, to promote actions aimed at competitiveness of micro and small enterprises in the tourism production chain.

In the next two years, initiatives will be developed for the production of intelligence, innovation of tourism, qualification of products and services, international promotion of destinations, improvement of access to financial services and attraction of investments for the sector.

The subject was highlighted on Tuesday (4), in Brasilia, during the opening of #SummitSummit2018, an event promoted in partnership by the three organs to discuss technological advances and their impacts in the travel industry and the new guiding concepts of tourism in Brazil.

For the president of Embratur, Teté Bezerra, the agreement will contribute to the definitive consolidation of numerous Brazilian destinations. According to her, joint and punctual actions for professional training focused on providing services and seeking to transform national tourism products into Smart Destinations are essential measures to better receive international tourists.

Sebrae President Guilherme Afif Domingos recalled that the entire amount that will be invested in the agreement comes from resources of the agency and stressed the strong connection with the service sector, especially tourism, which is formed in the majority (95%) by micro and small businesses. According to him, it is necessary to seek continuity of actions which would avoid the dispersion of financial and human resources.

In addition to the agreement, the MTur articulated a special credit line of R $ 5 billion with BNDES (National Bank for Economic and Social Development), of which R $ 1.5 billion has already been accessed for public managers and private initiative invest in infrastructure.

According to Tourism Minister Vinicius Lummertz, the new model proposed in the agreement is based on three main axes: promotion of governance, diffusion of new technologies and stimulation to the practice of sustainability. For him, the technological evolution has transformed the commercialization of trips around the planet.

A UNWTO (World Tourism Organization) recognizes the importance of the issue and announces that the World Tourism Day, celebrated on September 27, will be dedicated to the debate of digital transformations not setor of viagens.
