Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, regarding the framework of the latest developments in Syria and the Operation of the Olive Branch, was on the phone this evening.

According to presidential sources, views on bilateral relations were exchanged on  evelopments in Syria, including the operation carried out in Afrin by Turkish army. President Erdoğan stressed that the operation of the Olive Branch aims to purify the Afrin region from terrorist organization elements such as PYD / YPG and DEAŞ. This campaign aims to guarantee Turkey’s national security, Syria’s political unity and territorys. The two leaders confirmed their determination to pursue joint efforts for the success of the Syrian National Dialogue Congress to be held in Sochi and for the opening of the political solution.
