Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Fight Over $ 164 Million of Estate…
The ongoing legal dispute between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt appears to be escalating even further, with new court documents detailing a feud over one of their common areas.
According to documents filed Tuesday, obtained by HollywoodLife, Angelina allegedly tried to strike a profitable deal involving a $ 164 million castle, jointly owned by herself and her ex-husband Brad Pitt, without consulting him at the prior.
The documents accused Angelina of attempting to sell her 50 percent stake in Chateau Miraval – which is located in Correns, France and owned by a company called Quimicum – without first giving Brad the option of buying it back. or to refuse completely, which goes against the alleged agreements made between the couple.
According to sources cited by Page Six, the former couple had previously agreed to ask permission if they were considering selling their shares.
Angelina and Brad are now 50% co-owners of the estate, although Brad originally owned a 60% stake through his company Mondo Bongo, while Angelina owned 40% through his company Nouvel.
However, three years before the couple split in 2016, Brad transferred 10% of his stake in his company to his own, making them equal shareholders.
The latest court documents allege that Nouvel, Angelina’s company, did not act in Quimicum’s “best interests”.
“It should be mentioned that, over the past four years, Nouvel has not acted in the best interests of Quimicum by systematically delaying the approval of the annual accounts and the renewal of the director,” the documents read.
“We understand that behind this systematic obstruction, the real objective of Nouvel and its shareholder Angelina Jolie is to sell its stake in Chateau Miraval SA in a way that would bypass Mondo Bongo’s right of preemption (as provided for in the articles of association de Quimicum), thus realizing a capital gain realized thanks to the investment of Mondo Bongo and to which Nouvel did not contribute ”, they continued.
Additionally, a source close to the trial reportedly described Angelina’s actions as her “attempt to bend the rules”, telling HollywoodLife: “This is pretty consistent with this person’s behavior and that’s why she was put on trial” not credible “based on the testimony of many experts, medical professionals, therapists and others who know her best in the recent judgment of the detention case.
Brad and Angelina’s 1,000-acre estate – which has 35 rooms and a private vineyard – was, in fact, the place where the two secretly married seven years ago.
The couple made headlines in the summer of 2014 when news broke that they were married in a secret ceremony at the Chateau after nine years together. According to reports, the intimate ceremony was attended by only a few of their relatives and only 22 people were in attendance.
However, just two years later, Angelina and Brad shocked fans by filing for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” in September 2016.
According to documents obtained by BuzzFeed News, Angelina has requested full physical custody of all of their children, but has requested that Brad be granted joint legal custody and visitation rights.
At the time, the startling news of the couple’s divorce led many fans to guess that an affair or incident may have led to the sudden breakup. Angelina’s father, Jon Voight, told BuzzFeed News that “something bad must have happened”.
It was widely speculated that Angelina’s decision to file for divorce came after a complaint was filed – which included child abuse charges against Brad, from whom he has since been cleared – with the Department of Services. to the childhood and family of Los Angeles County.
The charges in question detailed an alleged altercation between Brad and his eldest son Maddox, who was 15 at the time, on their family’s private plane between Europe and the United States. Earlier this year in March, Maddox – who was then 19 – reportedly testified against Brad in court, amid the ongoing custody dispute over his parents.
