Compass Teaching Materials Taught by AI for 5 Major Subjects

Starting next spring, the educational startup COMPASS (Chiyoda, Tokyo) will use the learning material “Qubena” using artificial intelligence (AI) for the five major elementary and junior high school subjects. Add traditional language, science and society to traditional math and mathematics, English. Aiming to introduce it to 1,500 schools in 2021 and 3,000 schools in 2010, keeping in mind the spread to public schools.

Cubina is a teaching material that is provided according to the learning progress of each student. AI analyzes the weak areas from the students’ answers and turns them into optimal problems so that they can overcome their weaknesses. It is used as a supplementary teaching material for lessons and is used on tablets. Teachers can also choose questions and deliver tests and homework to students, allowing teachers to track student progress.

It will be provided from April 2021. We are considering a usage fee of 600 to 1,500 yen per month for each account in 5 subject sets. Currently, it provides two subjects for math, mathematics, and English for elementary school, junior high school, and high school, and the school that introduces them said that there were calls for correspondence to five subjects.

Cubina is introduced by 150 schools, mainly in private schools. Schools have been closed due to the influence of the new coronavirus, and the number of schools introduced is increasing due to the attention paid to online teaching methods. The government will promote the “GIGA School Concept” to improve the infrastructure environment and enhance the teaching materials.
