Nike Launches a Collection for the 2020 Olympics

In preparation for the Tokyo Summer Olympics, the sportswear giant is teaming up with Off-White, Ambush, Undercover, Sacai and Alyx around a collection of track jackets.

To celebrate the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, Nike is once again bringing together the world of sports and the world of fashion through pieces designed by fashion designers. If we knew their many sneakers collaborations, the comma brand once again called on Off-White, Ambush, Undercover, Sacai and Alyx to imagine, this time, track jackets that combine style, comfort and practicality. A collective and creative project where everyone was able to express their relationship with sport while keeping cohesion as an essential value.

Yoon Ahn at Ambush favors pink and neon yellow colors to give a certain pep to the look of athletes. Matthew Williams, founder of Alyx, chooses the sobriety of black without neglecting the details with zippers, pockets and straps that structure the room. Just like Jun Takahashi who imagines an Undercover jacket with colorful inscriptions to contrast a predominant black. For this capsule, Virgil Abloh, head of Off-White, uses abstract lines and black touches similar to drops of paint, which bring a futuristic and street look to the model. Chitose Abe, artistic director of Sacai, stays on a traditional model with a double light gray waterproof jacket that will protect the athletes in case of rain.

We will have to wait until this summer before we can run to buy these jackets which will, perhaps, become sportswear classics.
