Goldman Sachs Hires Citi Trader in NY for Latin America

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. hired Fernando Ramos, former trader of Citigroup Inc. in New York, to increase the offering of so-called exotic products in the global markets unit for Latin America.

The hiring is part of Goldman‘s effort to bolster the team on derivatives, credit portfolio trading and systematic cross-asset strategies – including equities, according to a person familiar with the matter, who asked not to be identified because the project didn’t it’s public.

Ramos has been with Citigroup for over 16 years in Sao Paulo, Singapore and New York, according to his LinkedIn profile. He started as a foreign exchange and derivatives analyst and, for the last 5 years, has been trading and structuring credit in emerging markets.
