IDF and Palestinian Officials Met to Discuss Security Coordination

Despite declarations of disconnection: IDF and Palestinian officials met to discuss security coordination.

The security system said the meetings took place following demands from the Palestinian Authority, due to fears of a security escalation that would impair its control. More than 100,000 Palestinians are expected to enter Israel in the coming weeks, and the IDF is concerned about i”ndividual terrorism” in response to annexation intent.

During the past day, meetings and discussions were held between senior Palestinian officials and officials in the IDF, despite the declarations of disconnection between the IDF and the security forces and senior Palestinian officials. Security system officials told Walla! NEWS that the meetings took place following the demands of Palestinian officials, for fear of a security escalation that would damage the authority’s authority. Another reason for holding these meetings – the series and coordination of burning issues on the civilian and security chapter, and the emphasis on movements and entry of Palestinian workers into Israel.

Despite declarations in Israel about annexation and declarations by the Palestinian Authority about the cessation of security coordination, over 100,000 Palestinian workers are expected to enter Israel in the coming weeks, including tens of thousands to industrial areas in settlements throughout Judea and Samaria. The IDF fears a “wave of individual terrorism ” to the point of suicide in response to statements about annexation.
