Kate Middleton made a surprise visit, this Tuesday (12), to MP High Down, a men’s prison located in the county of Surrey, in the greater London area. The visit is part of the work of the Forward Trust initiative, an organization whose patron is the Princess of Wales and which helps prisoners fight addictions.

Despite showing off a new look with wavier hair and showing off her usual style, what caught the most attention from her subjects were the bandages on Kate’s right hand. The princess appeared with two fingers partially bandaged, which indicated that she had suffered a cut.

Speaking to Hello Magazine, Kate said that she suffered an injury while playing on a trampoline, one of her favorite activities with her three children. “My fault,” she admits. Despite it being a minor injury, the monarch insisted on applying the patch to avoid further problems. “I put it on just to keep it safe,” she explained.

Kate, who will be the next Queen consort of the United Kingdom, spent hours in the men’s prison, talking to the inmates and visiting different parts of the premises, such as the restaurant and the laboratory, where the entry of drugs is controlled. Still in contact with Hello Magazine, the princess classified the visit as “incredibly inspiring”.

Who also showered Kate with praise was the prison director, Emily Martin. “She’s very natural and genuinely interested, which I think is really important… I think prison visits are an interesting place because not a lot is known about prisons. It’s really nice to get positive attention from the press and for her to look at some of the good work we are trying to do,” she said.
