Russia is Ready to Simplify the Visa Policy for Some Categories of Turkish Citizen
Russia is ready to simplify the visa policy for some categories of Turkish citizens. This is stated in the comments of the Russian Foreign Ministry on Thursday in ahead of the visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Ankara on August 13-14.
“We plan to discuss the prospects for simplifying the policy of travel of citizens of the two countries.” We confirm the willingness to liberalize the visa regime for certain categories of Turkish citizens, “the diplomacy said.
The Russian ministry drew attention to the increase in the flow of tourists from Russia to Turkey after the lifting of restrictions and the intensification of bilateral relations and said that Lavrov and Chavuioğlu will sum up the preliminary results of the holiday season from the point of view of ensuring the safety of tourists from Russia.
“The Russian side expects to increase the effectiveness of cooperation between relevant departments of the two countries in the fight against international terrorism and organized crime,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
During the visit, the head of Russian diplomacy will take part in the meeting of ambassadors and permanent representatives of Turkey to international organizations, where he will deliver a speech and give details about the directions and priorities of Russia’s foreign policy.
This is the first such appearance in the practice of bilateral relations between Russia and Turkey, which, as noted at Smolenskaya Square, attests to the “high degree of mutual trust between the foreign ministers of Russia and Turkey, the presence of significant areas of coincidence or proximity of the interests of our countries, Russian-Turkish partnerships and coordination of positions on key international and regional issues. “
