Taiwan Shares Close Higher

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted Index gained 0.16%.

Shares closed higher on Wednesday, with gains in the Hotel, Transportation and Automotive sectors, pushing stocks higher.

The best performance of the session in the Taiwan Weighted Index came from the shares of Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW: 1538), which rose 10.00%, which corresponds to 0.50 points, being traded at 5.50 at the close of trading floor. Meanwhile, shares of Lida Holdings Ltd (TW: 4552) added 9.98%,  5.00 points, ending the day at 55.10, and Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW: 1526), ​​which advanced 9.96%,  2.80 points, at the end of operations with 30.90.

The worst performance of the session was the shares of Hung Ching Development & Construction Co Ltd (TW: 2527), which fell 9.83% or 2.60 points, with the shares trading at 23.85 at closing. Asustek Computer Inc (TW: 2357) decreased 8.77%,  20.00 points, to 208.00, and Chainqui Construction Development Co Ltd (TW: 2509) decreased 6.60%, 2.00 points, to 28.30.

Stocks outperformed negative shares on the Taiwan Stock Exchange with a difference of 491 to 307, while 101 ended unchanged.

Shares of Asustek Computer Inc (TW: 2357) declined, reaching their 5-year low; losing 8.77%,  20.00, to 208.00.

Oil futures for December delivery fell 0.56 percent, 0.31, to $ 55.38 a barrel. In other commodities, January crude fell 0.18 percent,  0.12, to hit $ 65.35 a barrel, while gold futures for December delivery jumped 0.21 percent, or 2.50, traded at $ 1,203.90 per troy ounce.

The USD / TWD pair rose 0.12% to 30,904 while the TWD / CNY pair fell 0.09% to 0.2256.

The Dollar Futures Index, on the other hand, increased by 0.04% in 96.94.
