Tim Cook: Tech Regulation is ‘Inevitable’

The CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, said in an interview that regulating the technology industry is “inevitable”, in the midst of debate about the responsibility that these companies should have in terms of security and privacy.

In the interview broadcast on “Axios on HBO,” Cook said he expected “more likely” more regulation in the near future, while he argued that even if the products and services created by the technology are not “inherently” good or bad, Companies must be aware that “they can be used to do evil”.

“In general, I do not sympathize too much with regulation. I am a great believer in the free market. But we have to admit the cases in which the free market does not work. And here it is not working. It is inevitable that there will be some level of regulation, “said the CEO.
