Amanda Seyfried talks about her role as Elizabeth Holmes in The Dropout. The actress is getting rave reviews for her performance as fraud-guilty tech entrepreneur Elizabeth Holmes on the Hulu series The Dropout.

According to ETonline, Seyfried is featured on the cover of Marie Claire, “Beauty Changemakers,” and the actress talks about fame, Hollywood and her transformation for the acclaimed drama series.

According to Amanda, when she refers to playing the former CEO of Theranos,

“The look was as essential as knowing how to do the voice.”

“I understand, (Holmes didn’t) want to spend time on what she looked like. There is a certain appreciation or acceptance in how she looks. She accepts it and enhances it a bit and then gets on with her day,” Seyfried mused. “I don’t love wearing a lot of makeup [either].”

And for Elizabeth Holmes’ interest in watching the series, Seyfried explained:

“They haven’t told me much because she’s smart… but… they told me that she’s not going to see her, that it was bad news, and that she doesn’t want to be a part of it.”

“I don’t know if that’s totally true. Who knows? I am a little skeptical of any information that comes to me” said Amanda.

The actress also spoke about fame:

“Fame is strange… I’ve never been super famous. I have always been somehow recognizable. It has been the healthiest trajectory. Not a scary spike. I have priorities. I know who I am. I know where I’m going. I know what that means. It means I’m getting what I love. I’m really not afraid of that now.”
