Aston Martin Vantage AMR

The Aston Martin Vantage AMR, destined to delight the most traditional, will have a third pedal. Its seven-speed manual transmission has been optimized for the hard work involved in running on tracks, and combined with carbon-ceramic brakes.
With a top speed of 314 km / h provided by a 510 hp 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, it looks like it will be a really fun car, even though it’s not as fast as the standard Vantage. The time to 100 km / h is four seconds, while the automatic change can make it three tenths faster. According to Aston Martin, the low placement of the engine and the fact that it has been pushed further into the chassis gives it a 50:50 weight distribution.
All that “weight” is another of the key elements of the Aston Martin Vantage AMR, that is, that the company’s engineers have managed to make the car weigh 95 kilos less than its standard counterpart (it remains at 1,535 kg). To ensure a more rewarding and attractive driving experience, the Vantage AMR transmission is coupled with a limited slip differential and three driving modes: Sport, Sport + and Race.
In addition, it has the Amshift system of the English house, which is responsible for adjusting the engine revolutions at each change of gear. In other words, it will make the tip heel for us. In any case, if you want a more traditional driving, it can be deactivated by a button in the passenger compartment. Of course, the gear knob has been conceived inspired by the racing world, with a “dog leg” type disposition, that is, with the first gear down.
Aston Martin will only manufacture 200 units of the AMR Vantage with a price that, in Germany, starts at 209,995 euros. 141 of them will be available in different colors, but the last 59 will be made with the same specifications to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the victory of the DBR1 in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Those in particular, called “Vantage 59”, will be painted in Stirling Green with accents in lime green, signed by AMR.
If you have your heart set on the Vantage AMR but you do not manage to get one, do not worry. From Gaydon they have said that the standard Vantage will have the option of manual transmission as of the first quarter of 2020, once all the AMRs have been exhausted.
