Federal Foreign Minister Heiko Maas Visited Istanbul

Federal Foreign Minister Heiko Maas visited Turkey on 5 and 6 September. Following political talks in Ankara on the afternoon and evening of 5 September, the minister continued to travel to Istanbul, where he met representatives of German industry in Turkey at the German Consulate General in Istanbul on the morning of 6 September.

As a result, Federal Foreign Minister Maas and his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu visited the German School Istanbul, which celebrates its 150th anniversary this year.

At the school, the two ministers discuss together with their students. In the late morning, the minister met with representatives of Turkish civil society in the German consulate general in Istanbul – i.a. from the fields of culture, media, politics and human rights.

Before leaving the Consulate General, Federal Foreign Minister Maas thanked the entire workforce of the Consulate General.
