Honda’s Sales in Japan Continue to Decline

Honda has only managed to sell around 570 thousand vehicles in Japan in 2021. This figure shows the trend of declining sales of Honda in Japan since 2018.

Data released by Honda through its Global News Room shows that as many as 579,740 vehicles were successfully sold by Honda in the Japanese market.

In the 2021 period, the Honda N-BOX was recorded as the best-selling with 188,940 units sold. Meanwhile, the most registered car by Honda in Japan is the Freed with 69,577 units sold.

Honda’s sales figures in Japan continued to decline. In 2020, Honda managed to sell 619,115 vehicles in the Japanese market. This means that in 2021, Honda’s sales in Japan will decrease by 39,375 units.

In 2019, Honda recorded sales figures of 722,003 vehicles in the Japanese market and in 2018 they managed to record sales figures of 747,177 vehicles.

Different from Japan, Honda car sales in Indonesia in 2021 will actually increase 15% from the previous year. Retail sales (from dealers to consumers) for Honda in Indonesia were recorded at 91,393 units in 2021.

For the Indonesian market, Honda’s biggest sales came from Honda Brio with a total of 45,332 units, with Brio Satya with 30,254 units and Brio RS with 15,078 units.
