Nissan Motor announced a new executive structure to be consulted at the regular general meeting of shareholders in late June. As an outside director who accounts for a majority of the directors,Yasushi Kimura, who is an adviser to JXTG Holdings, is newly added.

Hiroto Nishikawa, president and chief executive officer (CEO), will continue to join, with the top shareholders, Renault and other members of the board, including Renault, Chairman Jean Dominique Sunard and CEO Thierry Borrelet joining the management team.

The number of directors will be 11 with 3 more than now. Yasuhiro Yamauchi, COO (Chief Executive Officer) was newly selected from Nissan.

Outside directors will be increased from three to seven. To strengthen the oversight of management with external eyes in order to reinvent the governance (corporate governance) that has allowed forgiveness of former President Carlos Ghosn’s chairman.

In addition to Kimura,Nagao, Corporate Auditor of Nissan,  Bernard Delmas, Chairman of Japan Michelin Tire,  Andrew House, Former Chairman of Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC, General Counsel (Asia Region) 5) of Jennifer Rogers was newly selected.
