Trump Says He would have “No Problem” Wearing A Mask

All developments of the pandemicThese new infections bring the total number of cases detected on American soil to almost 2.7 million. The number of deaths in the past 24 hours stands at 706, bringing the US pandemic toll to 128,028 in total.

The level of newly detected cases in the United States is higher than at any time since the appearance of Sars-Cov-2, and hospitalizations are increasing in several homes such as Houston (Texas) and Phoenix (Arizona).

On Wednesday, Texas broke its daily record and reported 8,076 new cases of COVID-19, nearly 1,000 more than the previous day.

Because of this increase in contamination, some American states had to take a break from the deconfinement process.

California governor Gavin Newsom decided on Wednesday to ban, as the height of the pandemic, all enclosed dining in Los Angeles and 18 other particularly badly affected state counties.

The ban also applies to bars, cinemas and museums, for a period of “at least three weeks”.

The governor of Michigan, in the north of the country, has also announced the closure of a large number of bars, identified as being at the origin of “recent outbreaks”, while Oregon (north-west) and the Pennsylvania (northeast) joined the ranks of the states making it mandatory to wear the mask in public.

During the summer season, marked by departures on vacation, “the absence of a firm national response, including an obligation to wear a mask decreed throughout the country, will continue to threaten the viability of our economy and the ability of our schools to reopen in the fall, ”said David Rubin, doctor and director of PolicyLab, a research center at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania.
