Yoga for Eye Fatigue due to Excessive Computer Use
Yoga not only relaxes the eyes, but also sharpens the eye muscles for longer. This set of eye yoga is designed for people who suffer from eye fatigue due to excessive computer use, but who have generally healthy eyes. However, for people with other eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, or eye infections, please consult a professional doctor before doing this eye yoga.
Just like the rest of the body, the muscles of the eye can also be strengthened. To strengthen the eye muscles, first we half-close our eyes and keep them. You may then feel the eyelids tremble and focus on controlling the trembling eyelids.
Tip: Staring at distant objects and staying still can help you better suppress tremors.
After holding for 10-15, slowly close your eyes. Take a deep breath, imagine that plenty of oxygen is rushing through your blood to your eyes, and breathe. Repeat inhaling and breathing for one to two minutes.

Alternating far and near, staring at objects without moving, can also relax tired eyes. Here we will introduce two practice methods.
1) Hold a pen in your hand, straighten your arm, stare at the tip of the pen, and move the pen to the tip of your nose slowly and evenly. Repeat the exercise 5-10 times.
2) Keep your eyes fixed on the tip of your nose, then move your eyes to a farther object, which can be an arm away or a distance of more than 6 meters, and finally move your eyes back to the tip of your nose. Repeat ten times.
Choose a suitable target by yourself, shift your attention to objects in different positions, and practice continuously.

Looking left to right stretches specific muscles that control the movement of the eye to the left and right. For example, when you look to the left, you are using the lateral rectus of the right eye and the medial rectus of the left eye. When you look to the right, you are using the lateral rectus of the left eye and the medial rectus of the right eye.
Relax and sit up straight. Turn your eyes to the far left, keep your head still, and stretch your eye muscles. Count to five silently, blink and turn your gaze back to center. Then look to the far right and count five times silently. Repeat the whole process 3 times, remembering to blink each time.
In the same way, practice looking up and down and don’t forget to blink.

As before, look diagonally up or down and hold for a few seconds to stretch specific eye muscles. When you look up to the left, it stretches the superior oblique muscle of the left eye and the inferior oblique muscle of the right eye.
Relax and sit up straight. Look to the upper left, hold for 5 seconds, return to the center of the line of sight, and then repeat in turn, look like upper right, lower left and lower right, hold for 5 seconds each time. The whole process is repeated 3 times.
Do Yoga Eye Exercises Step 5
Draw an infinity symbol with the eye. Imagine an Arabic numeral 8 lying horizontally in front of your eyes, like a painting, move your eyes slowly, and imagine that you are copying the 8 with your eyes. Keeping the head still, repeat the whole process 10 times, remembering to blink between each interval.
Do Yoga Eye Exercises Step 6
Draw circles with your eyes. Imagine a giant clock in front of you, first see where the top 12 is, and slowly move your gaze along the other numbers. Then the line of sight moves in the opposite direction.

Do Yoga Eye Exercises Step 7
Massage your eyes. Massage can promote local blood circulation and is a good way to relieve tension and stress. First massage your upper eyelid for 10 seconds, then massage the lower eyelid.
Massage with the first three fingers in a circular motion, applying a little pressure, but control the intensity.
The lacrimal gland provides most of the tears to the eyes, and massaging the lacrimal gland can stimulate it to produce more tears and increase the moisture level of the eyes, thereby relaxing and moisturizing the eyes.
When massaging the lower eyelid, be sure to massage the lacrimal bone, which is close to the inner corner of the eye.

Increase the number of blinks. Blinking provides the eyes with the necessary relaxation and rest. But because blinking is an instinctive and inadvertent action, most people ignore its role and importance. Deliberately increasing the frequency of blinking can relieve eye strain.
Blinking has the effect of lubricating the eyeball. Not only does it help to remove foreign bodies from the eye, but it also provides an even layer of fluid covering the eyeball,[9] thereby relieving dry eyes. [10]
Try to blink every four seconds to prevent your eyes from drying out.

Proper rest is very important. Resting your eyes can help relieve eye strain after using your eyes, especially after using a computer.
Try staring at an object 6 meters away for 20 seconds every 20 seconds.
If you can’t remember to take a break, set yourself an alarm.
You can also do your best to open and close your eyes every once in a while. Studies have shown that this action can relieve dryness and fatigue under the eyes.

Applying an eye compress can relax your eyes. The method is also very simple. Cover your eyes with your palm and rest for a few minutes.
Or relax and sit up straight with your elbows on the table. If you feel uncomfortable, you can add a pillow or blanket under your elbows. Poke hot hands (the heat relaxes the eyes more), fold your index fingers together, and place your palms over each eye. Breathe normally and maintain this position for 5-10 minutes. Add an alarm if necessary.
If the alarm goes off and you feel your eyes are relaxed, it means that you have applied the eye for an appropriate amount of time. But if you still don’t feel relieved, add another five minutes to see if that makes any difference.
If you are doing eye yoga for the first time, you may want to spend some time practicing it every day. At the beginning, do 30 minutes of eye yoga every day. When you feel that your eyes have improved, you can increase the time interval for eye yoga.
Between hands and eyes, be sure to wash hands with soap and water to avoid eye infections. Also, trim your nails to avoid scratching or poking your skin and eyeballs.
warn
Stop eye yoga immediately if you experience pain, decreased vision, dizziness, or other symptoms. If these symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
Please continue your daily eye care, whether it is medication or wearing glasses, don’t stop because of eye yoga.
While eye yoga improves vision, it reduces the need for glasses. But in fact, pay attention to rest and directly reduce the fatigue of the eyes, such as using a computer, etc., can solve this problem from the root cause. Exercising the eye muscles does not solve inherent vision problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, presbyopia (vision problems that arise from aging), and more. Likewise, it does not cure diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration. Research has shown that no non-medical eye exercise will get you off your glasses or cure a real eye condition.
