Honda Halts Much of its Production Due to Tansomware Attack

A ransomware attack has caused Honda to close some of its services and stop factories worldwide.
According to all the tests, it has been an attack with the aim of kidnapping and encrypting company files and then asking for money in exchange for returning them to normal. These kinds of attacks are common in the company, but it is unusual for them to exceed security measures.
Since Honda have given notice of what has happened and claim to be “working to contain this attack and restore business operations as quickly as possible. However, many business processes that depend on information systems are affected,” according to the information from The Verge.
Although some of the factories and stores are getting back online, there are still areas where you can’t make purchases or access customer service, especially in the United States. This aspect has affected a multitude of workers and Honda has been carrying this tweet posted on their account since they suffered the first signs of the attack.
At this time Honda Customer Service and Honda Financial Services are experiencing technical difficulties and are unavailable. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding.

This problem is affecting money transactions to the different extensions of the company and to many workers, who are left without the possibility of carrying out operations. Keep in mind that it is also happening at a time when teleworking has spread like never before.
